BEEDS –privately owned pasture land; seasonally open for grazing
Village: “Karvakhedi”, Madhya Pradesh
1 of 6 | Throughout the area a stretch between cultivated land and common property resources (waste land / forest land) concerns private grassland –beeds- which are seasonally open for grazing –normally after the festival Diwali. The grazing plot on which we are meeting the farmer and his wife is about 4.6 hectare and this family has leased it on a 50-50 basis. Common grass species are Heteropogan centortus, Themada guadrium, Altuda mutica and a range of others. |
