It also provides relevant data regarding the qualitative and quantitative growth of foliage on the commons and its potential in different agro ecological regions. The study investigates changes in land use patterns in a watershed and its impact on improving the status of nutrients and water through analyzing data collected over a period of time.

The study also examines the diverse institutional arrangements for the management of different categories of common lands across project villages. It details the rules and regulations that have been developed at the village level for governance and equitable sharing of benefits from interventions on common land development.
