Chauka System for Management of Common Property Resources for Sustainable Livelihood and Adaptation to Climate Change in Dry Regions of Rajasthan
This case study, prepared and published by the Directorate of Extension, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, documents the different models under the Chauka system, its impact in terms of increased net and gross area under agriculture, improved biomass availability, and higher milk yield from cattle, all of which have contributed to reducing the migration of youth from these villages.

Replicating the practice of willow silage as winter fodder to reduce the need for grazing livestock, and lead to forest regeneration
Presently the practice of making willow silage in Bhutan is prevalent only in the temperate region where the average minimum temperature during the winter season does not go below -20C. The silage does not freeze at this temperature.

Developing Block-level Plans for Livelihood Promotion through NREGA - Examples; Advice
Natural Resource Management (NRM) and Micro enterprise development are two broad livelihood approaches where the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) funds can be used effectively. The Block level livelihood plans for Tonk and Jaipur Districts of Rajasthan can focus on these approaches.
