Goat Farmers’ Coping Strategy for Sustainable Livelihood Security in Arid Rajasthan: An Empirical Analysis

The report is an outcome of a study conducted in Nagaur district of western Rajasthan, in the year 2004-05. The study analyzes primary data collected from 60 randomly selected goat-keeping households and 25 farm households without goats. It demonstrates the coping strategy of farmers in arid Rajasthan and concludes that goat-based farming systems evolved by the farmers are not only economically viable, but also more sustainable.
