This study is an annexure to the document “Common Land Development and Poor Livestock Keepers: Experiences from Common Land Development in the States of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in India”. It documents the work of two organizations namely the Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) and BAIF Development Research Foundation, related to common land development in the two states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh

This study estimates the increase in biomass, availability of palatable fodder and vegetation composition, as also biodiversity, emerging over a period of time on community protected commons. In addition, the study also attempts to understand the benefits of this development for livestock keepers and patterns of resource use in these regions.
